Webelos Scouts
Scientist in the Museum
5:00PM - 9:00AM
Explore Sloan Museum’s newest exhibit, “Strange Matter”,
while participating in activities that will help Webelos Scouts
fulfill requirements towards their Scientist Badge. Boys will
participate in hands-on activities that illustrate laws of
physics, learn about weather, see a planetarium show,
and go on a museum scavenger hunt. Scouts will receive
a certificate of completion and a goody bag.
Camp-Ins will be held on the following dates:

Junior Girl Scouts
Junior Girl Scouts are invited to join in the fun of exploring and learning about maps, map making and treasures while attending a Camp-In at Sloan Museum on the Flint Cultural Center Campus.
Girls will participate in activities that will fulfill the requirements for the “Finding Your Way” badge* including: Know Your Maps, How Long and How Far, Map Maker, Map of the Place, Make a Model and Trail Signs Traffic. They will also see a show at Longway Planetarium.
Camp-Ins will be held on the following dates:

Brownie Girl Scouts
Listening to the Past
Listen and learn about the past while attending this fun workshop at Sloan Museum, located on the Flint Cultural Center Campus. Girls will complete the Listening to the Past Try- It by participating in the following activities:
- Hear Community Stories
- Take part in Games of Yesteryear
- Learn how to become a Storyteller
- If These Buildings Could Talk
- Receive a certificate of completion

Building Art

Cadette/Senior Girl Scouts
Car Sense
Location: Buick Gallery
Visit the Buick Gallery to see the world class collection of concept cars housed there. Participate in hands-on activities that will help Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts earn their “Car Sense” Interest Project. Girls will learn about basic car maintenance and safety, as well as finding out about the financial aspects of owning a car.

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts are invited to explore maps, compasses and the museum while attending this workshop at Sloan Museum on the Flint Cultural Center Campus. Boys participate in activities that will help them earn their Maps and Compass Belt Loop and Academics Pin. Activities include:
- Participating in hands-on mapping activities
- Creating a simple working compass
- Designing a map of their own
- Receive a certificate of completion
